Cookie policy

Last updated: October 2026

This page explains which cookies and similar techniques Webclouds uses, and why we don't need to ask for your consent for any of them. It complements our privacy policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that get stored on your device when you visit a website. Where we say “cookies” below, we also mean related techniques such as localStorage.

2. Why there's no cookie banner

We only use what the site needs to work and privacy-friendly measurement of our own site. We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics, and nothing follows you to other websites. Under Dutch law that needs no consent, so we don't ask for it.

3. What we use

Strictly necessary

  • __clerk_*, manages your login session in the client portal. Only when you sign in. Retained for the session, up to 7 days.

Measuring our own site

Our own analytics count visits, scrolls and clicks without cookies: a visitor is recognised for one day at most, from a code made on our server that changes every night. Nothing that identifies you is stored on your device. Two small notes are kept in your browser's localStorage, only for this site:

  • wc-exp:<test>, which of two versions of a page you see while we test which works better, so you see the same one each time.
  • wc-content:<page>, that the text of a page was already sent to us, so it isn't sent twice.

Google Ads

When you arrive through one of our Google ads, the ad's click code is kept only in the page's memory during your visit, not in a cookie. If you then fill in a form, it's sent along so we can see which ads bring enquiries.

4. Services we rely on

  • Clerk, authentication for the client portal. Required for login.
  • Vercel, hosting; may set technical cookies at the infrastructure layer, for example for security and rate limiting.
  • Supabase, database and storage; sets short technical tokens during a portal session to authorise file uploads.

5. Managing it yourself

Every modern browser lets you view, block or delete cookies and localStorage, under “Privacy & security” or “Cookies and site data”. Blocking the strictly necessary ones can stop the client portal from working.

6. Changes

If we ever use cookies that need your consent, we'll ask for it first and update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
